How to open an Eightcap account

By · Published · Facts checked on Eightcap's own site on (UTC)· 2 min read

Short answer

Opening an Eightcap account takes five steps: register on Eightcap's site, verify your identity and address, choose an account (Standard, Raw), fund it (minimum: $100 (or equivalent in your account currency)) and pick a platform.

How to open an Eightcap account

The sign-up form takes minutes; the part that matters is choosing the right Eightcap company and account. Here are the steps with Eightcap's own published conditions at each one.

1. Check which Eightcap company will hold your account

Eightcap holds licences from ASIC, FCA, CySEC, SCB (Bahamas), FSA Seychelles, FSC Mauritius. The company that opens your account depends on your country of residence, and it decides your leverage and protection. Which Eightcap company opens your account depends on where you live. If you live in the EU, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, the UAE or Qatar, our link only goes to an Eightcap entity licensed for your country, and where there is none we show no link. We show no sign-up links at all in countries where promoting offshore brokers is not allowed.

Commission: "Raw: US$3.50 per standard lot per side (GBP 2.25, EUR 2.75); Standard: none (share CFDs carry commission)". Accounts differ in how they charge you (spread or commission); see the cost per lot calculator.

4. Make your first deposit

Minimum deposit: $100 (or equivalent in your account currency). Deposit methods Eightcap lists: Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, BPAY, Skrill, Neteller, Crypto.

5. Pick a platform and start on demo

Eightcap lists: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, TradingView, TradeLocker. Practise there first. Eightcap publishes that 77.97% of its retail CFD accounts lose money.
