By · Published · Facts checked on IC Markets's own site on (UTC)· 3 min read

Short answer

Opening an IC Markets account takes five steps: register on IC Markets's site, verify your identity and address, choose an account (Raw Spread (MetaTrader), Raw Spread (cTrader / TradingView), Standard, Swap Free; Raw Pro and Raw Pro+ in early access), fund it (minimum: USD 200 (or currency equivalent; the help centre also says an account can be opened without any minimum)) and pick a platform.

How to open an IC Markets account

The sign-up form takes minutes; the part that matters is choosing the right IC Markets company and account. Here are the steps with IC Markets's own published conditions at each one.

1. Check which IC Markets company will hold your account

IC Markets holds licences from FSA Seychelles, ASIC, CySEC. The company that opens your account depends on your country of residence, and it decides your leverage and protection. Which IC Markets company opens your account depends on where you live. If you live in the EU, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, the UAE or Qatar, our link only goes to an IC Markets entity licensed for your country, and where there is none we show no link. We show no sign-up links at all in countries where promoting offshore brokers is not allowed.

FSA Seychelles
Raw Trading Ltd · licence SD018icmarkets.com
ASIC
International Capital Markets Pty Ltd · licence AFSL 335692icmarkets.com.au
CySEC
IC Markets (EU) Ltd · licence 362/18icmarkets.eu

2. Register and verify your identity

Register on IC Markets's website or app with your email and phone. Regulated brokers must check your identity and address under anti-money-laundering rules, so IC Markets will ask for documents in its sign-up flow. Verifying before you deposit avoids delays on your first withdrawal.

Accounts differ in how they charge you (spread or commission); see the cost per lot calculator.

4. Make your first deposit

Minimum deposit: USD 200 (or currency equivalent; the help centre also says an account can be opened without any minimum). Deposit methods IC Markets lists: Bank/wire transfer, PayPal, Credit card, Skrill, Neteller, UnionPay, BPAY, FasaPay, POLi.

5. Pick a platform and start on demo
