By Β· Published Β· Facts checked on eToro's own site on (UTC)Β· 2 min read

Short answer

Opening an eToro account takes five steps: register on eToro's site, verify your identity and address, choose an account, fund it (minimum: $10 to $10,000 first deposit depending on region) and pick a platform.

How to open an eToro account

The sign-up form takes minutes; the part that matters is choosing the right eToro company and account. Here are the steps with eToro's own published conditions at each one.

1. Check which eToro company will hold your account

eToro holds licences from FCA, CySEC, ASIC, FSA Seychelles, FSRA (ADGM), MAS. The company that opens your account depends on your country of residence, and it decides your leverage and protection. Which eToro company opens your account depends on where you live. If you live in the EU, the UK, Australia, South Africa, Kenya, the UAE or Qatar, our link only goes to an eToro entity licensed for your country, and where there is none we show no link. We show no sign-up links at all in countries where promoting offshore brokers is not allowed.

Account currencies: Local accounts currently available: GBP, EUR, AUD and DKK (plus a USD account for all clients). Accounts differ in how they charge you (spread or commission); see the cost per lot calculator.
