Spread or commission: how each account charges you
HFM's spreads: "0.0 pips (Zero), 0.3 pips (InfinityX), 0.6 pips (Pro), 1.4 pips (Premium and Cent)". Its commission: "From $3 per lot (Zero account, $6 round turn per 100,000 units on forex); Premium, Pro, Cent and InfinityX no commission". A "from" spread is the lowest the broker shows, not what you pay most of the time. To compare two accounts fairly, add the spread cost and the round-turn commission for one lot; the cost per lot calculator does it in a few seconds.
Which account suits which trader
- Fewer, longer trades: the spread matters less than swaps and simplicity; a commission-free account keeps the costs in one number.
- Many short trades: the spread is paid on every trade, so a raw-spread account with commission often costs less per lot. Check with the calculator before you decide.
- Small first account: start with the account that has the lowest minimum deposit (HFM: "No minimum deposit (Premium and Cent accounts; Zero $25, Pro $100, InfinityX $500)") and a demo first.
Platforms you can use
HFM lists: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, HFM WebTrader, HFM App. Not every account is available on every platform; HFM's account pages say which.
HFM's licensed companies
Which HFM company opens your account depends on where you live.
