How to work out which costs less

One pip on one standard lot of EUR/USD is worth about $10. So:

  • Standard: cost per lot = the spread you actually get, in pips, Γ— $10.
  • Raw: cost per lot = the raw spread in pips Γ— $10 + the round-turn commission (twice the per-side figure).

If the Standard spread you see is wider than the Raw spread by more than the commission in pips, Raw is cheaper. Use the live spreads in your FP Markets platform, not the "from" figures, and check with the cost per lot calculator.

Who each account suits

  • Standard: traders who place few trades and want one simple cost.
  • Raw: traders who place many trades or trade larger sizes, where the tighter spread usually outweighs the commission.

Both accounts sit with the same FP Markets company for your country, so your protection is the same on either.
